Ourimbah 1970

THE FIRST LEG (PACIFIC) enabled me to return to my homeland for the first time since departing in April 1966.

Apart from appearing on John and Yoko’s behalf at the kickoff of Australia’s first outdoor rock festival at Ourimbah, on the NSW Central Coast, we undertook interviews in many publications and graced the front page of Australia’s leading paper, the Daily Telegraph. A day trip to Melbourne brought more radio and print coverage. We visited with Roy Orbison who was appearing in Sydney, and attended a party in our honour hosted by a Canadian businessman (Jack Cowin) who would go on to become the Fast Food King of Australia.
